World Missions

We attended the first session of the Israel Mandate conference last night with Dan Juster speaking. He did two sessions and we didn't get out until like 9:30...sesh, but it was a really good word from Mr. Juster.

One of the major things I came away with was a change in my view of world missions. It seems I had always heard missions and the salvation of Israel preached as two completely different topics, one being practical and the later being more of a 'theological' message. Yet, as Mr. Juster addressed both issues last night, it is quite clear that world missions and the salvation of Israel are inseparable. Preaching the gospel to every tribe, tongue, and nation is unto Israel accepting Jesus, and Israel will not fulfill its destiny without the saved and blossoming Gentile nations. They are intricately interwoven. Oh the glorious mystery of the Gospel!

Israel Mandate Conference

Today is the first day of this year's Israel Mandate conference. Once a year Dan Juster and Asher Intrater (two guys from the church in Israel) come and minister to IHOP on the subject of Isreal. Ash and I are probably going to attend the evening sessions.

This is a subject much of the church is silent on, yet it is clear in the scripture how dear to God's heart Israel is. We are praying God will realize His heart to our community and to the western church on His purposes and plans for Israel.

Red Moon Rising

"Expectation is necessary for Jesus to return."

I was once again attempting to start RED MOON RISING, and i got as far as through the forward, but i was struck by the above quote. Coming from a church background that hardly ever addressed the second-coming or the end-times, let alone believing its going to happen in this generation, the idea of 'expectation being necessary' struck home.

Jesus is not coming back void of the Bride crying 'COME!' The Lord is using night and day prayer to awaken the church as a whole with an expectation of his return, for He is coming and He is coming soon.

May we become a bride that is living with an anticipation of our wedding day.

America the "beautiful"

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama . Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama ! The judge's poem sums it up quite well.

America the beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpster's,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine
choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray

We've kept God in our
temples, how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges;
who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not
angry, that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven;
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within..

But,
America the Beautiful,
If you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.

Colossians 3:2

Greetings again.

I'm just writing this to promise to anyone whose eyes might wander upon our humble little blog, that from this week forward I'll update every week.

For the past few weeks I have been meditating upon this well know verse:
"Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth." Colossians 3:2

I have truly been challenged in my thought...It seems Paul is telling us here, 'wisdom is found in having your thought life obsessed with heaven.' Just think about how much time in our day to day life we are wasting on worthless, vain imaginations and streams of thought. How much would we be transformed in our spirit, soul, and body IF we set our minds upon heaven!?
